This week’s parashat is about leprosy and the causes of it

Which is producing false testimony or gossip

Sometimes gossip comes from within ourselves

Not just because we heard something and repeated it although we did not witness it

But sometimes our minds will witness something and judge it without really being there or even asking questions and start forming conclusions in our mind

I have been guilty of doing that myself – I usually have to remind myself – if you didn’t see it and you didn’t question it – then don’t repeat it because it can lead to false witnessing and not only that, character assassination.
