Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:

According to GOD’s biblical calendar, this year we have celebrated the spring feast and are waiting for the fall feasts to arrive. Are we in the same season spiritually? Yeshua died and was raised from the dead during the spring feast of Passover and then at Shavuot He sent His Holy Spirit to us. We have been waiting ever since for His glorious return bringing His earthly reign so we may Sukkot with Him for eternity. I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait. But waiting we must do.

Yeshua says we do not know the day nor the hour. Can we know the season? I think we can if we watch and wait. For this reason, the feasts are laid out the way they are to tell us what season GOD is in. If we want to know what season GOD is in, we should look no further than His calendar and His word.

There are approximately 16 weeks between Shavuot and Yom Teruah It has been approximately 2000 years since Messiah was resurrected from the dead and sent HIS Spirit to dwell with us HIS temple.

There are many scriptures that refer to signs that we should look for to know the season Messiah is coming. I believe all believers should look into those scriptures and compare them with GOD’s calendar. This is very important to search these things out. It is also important to search out in scripture what we as believers are to do during this season as well.

One of the things we are to do is wait. How are we to wait? Patiently! Oh yes, I said it, that dreadful word patiently.

James 5:7-9 (NKJV) 7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!

It is interesting that Jacob (James) uses the parable of a farmer. In this four-month season this is what the farmer is actually doing. What else are we to do while we wait patiently? Establish our hearts!

How do we establish our hearts? Having our hearts cleansed by the washing of the water with the word.

Ephesians 5:26-27 (NASB) 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

His word cleanses us and we will be holy and blameless at His coming. Praise GOD.

Revelation 22:17 (NASB) 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

We must listen to His word watching and waiting for His Return

Proverbs 8:34 (NASB) 34 “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.

We must be dressed in Readiness with our Lamps lit

Luke 12:35-36 (NASB) 35 “Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. 36 “Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks.

How do we keep our lamps lit? Spending time in His presence and allow the fire of His Spirit to burn within us. We are His temple we must keep our menorah lit. Are we waiting at the door?

Luke 12:40 (NASB) 40 “You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”

We must be ready for our bridegroom’s return. See the parable of the ten virgins which encourages us to be ready.

Matthew 25:5 (NASB) 5 “Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.

They fell asleep! Both the foolish and the wise. A lot of us are tired and weary but now is not the time to fall asleep because when we think Messiah delays He will come when we least expect it. May He find us awake standing at the door with our lamps lit.

While we wait patiently we must be overcomers.

Revelation 2:7 (NASB) 7 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes …

GOD repeats the phrase above in His letters to every congregation. Overcomers don’t quit!

Revelation 12:11 (NASB) 11 “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

Jude 1:20-23 (NASB) 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

Our waiting patiently is an active waiting.
    • We are to be seeking His heart and establishing our hearts

    • Letting the word of GOD cleanse us so we may be a Holy bride without spot or blemish

    • Abiding in Him.

    • We are to be waiting for the former and the latter rain.

    • Waiting at the gate and at the door.

    • We are not to fall asleep but be ready and alert.

    • Keeping our lamps full and lit. Allowing the Holy Spirit to fill us and set us ablaze

    • We must be overcomers.

    • We should love one another and have mercy on others

Acts 1:11 (NASB) 11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Yeshua, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

This is the season to be ready, watch and wait. For Messiahs return is imminent.
