We are a community of believers who follow the LORD Yeshua (Jesus) with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We were “once Gentiles in the flesh” (Ephesians 2:11), but we “have been brought near by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13), and we are “no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19).

you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were Grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree….
Romans 11:24

Mission

Our Mission is to be a community of believers who embody the Great Commandment and embrace the Great Commission.

Why do we say Yeshua?

The Hebrew name for Jesus is Yeshua and means “salvation”. This is significant because Mary and Joseph were told to name Him “Yeshua, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) Literally, “name Him Salvation, because He will save His people from their sins.” His name is Salvation!

We use the English name Jesus as well as His Hebrew name Yeshua interchangeably, but we prefer to call Him by His Hebrew name.

Statement of Faith

We advocate a return to the faith of the first-century Church. This is typically referred to as “Messianic Jewish” or “Hebrew Roots”, but we prefer to call it “Biblical Christianity”. We believe and follow our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) and we obey His commandments (found in both the Old and New Testaments).

We are a Christian ministry that believes and teaches the whole Bible. We want to be like the noble Bereans who studied the Scriptures daily to know the truth, and we are here to “contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” (Jude 1:3)

Our Messiah taught us to beware of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Matthew 16:12) and to watch out for false teachers (Matthew 7:15). He also said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me” (John 7:16). Likewise, Paul urges us not to be tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:14) and warns that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3), and he encourages us to speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine (Titus 2:1).

Having sound Biblical doctrine is important, which is why I posted this list of fundamental beliefs. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but simply a starting point for our faith.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:16-17

God is One

  • We believe the Lord our God is One God who exists eternally as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-14, John 10:30-36, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 1:15, Colossians 2:9, Philippians 2:5-8, 1 Peter 1:2, )
  • We believe God created all things through His Son, Yeshua the Messiah. (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 1:2)
  • We believe Yeshua is God incarnate. That He is eternal and shares glory with the Father. He created all things. He is the Word of God made flesh. He is the image of the invisible God, and in Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He humbled Himself and took on flesh and dwelt among us as a man, and at the name of Yeshua (Jesus) every knee will bow. He alone has immortality. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. (John 1:1, John 17:5, Colossians 1:15-19, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:1-6, Philippians 2:6-11, 1 Timothy 6:15-16, Titus 2:12)

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!”
– Deuteronomy 6:4

Salvation

  • We believe salvation is through Yeshua alone. We are saved by grace, through faith, and not by works. (Exodus 15:2, Isaiah 12:2, Isaiah 49:6, John 3:16-17, John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12, Acts 16:31, Romans 1:16, Romans 5:8-11, Romans 10:9-13, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Thessalonians 5:9, 2 Timothy 2:10, Titus 2:10-14, Titus 3:4-7, Hebrews 9:28)
  • We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born in the flesh as a man, and was crucified for the sins of the world though He knew no sin. Jesus resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
  • We believe it is Jesus’ blood that makes atonement for our souls and through Him, the priesthood has been changed. Jesus is our new High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
  • We believe true followers of the Messiah are sealed with and led by the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit (a Witness, an Intercessor, a Teacher, and a Helper) testifies that Jesus is the Son of God and convicts the world of sin.  A true believer has a very intimate relationship with the Spirit of God and will produce the fruit of the Spirit.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
– Romans 10:9

Scripture

  • We believe the Bible, comprised of both the Old and New Testaments, is the infallible Word of God, and the contents within are given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (Deuteronomy 11:1, Psalm 119:160, Matthew 5:17-19, 2 Timothy 3:15-17)
  • We believe it is every believer’s responsibility to read and study the Bible for themselves; to hear His voice, to learn His Word, to do His will, and to walk in a covenant relationship with Him. (Deuteronomy 31:12, Acts 17:11, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:15)
  • We believe if you love God, you will keep His commandments and all of His commandments are summed up in this: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength; and love your neighbor as yourself.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Sin and Judgment

  • We believe that our Lord and Savior is coming back soon to gather together His children – the elect of God – and bring the world into the final judgment.
  • We believe that whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness because sin is lawlessness (1 John 3:4)
  • We believe that we receive blessings if we obey the commandments, and a curse if we disobey (Deuteronomy 11:26-28, Deuteronomy 27:15-26, Deuteronomy 28:15-19, Proverbs 3:33, Daniel 9:11, Matthew 25:41), but when we repent from our sins the curse is removed (Deuteronomy 30:1-20, Ezekiel 18:21-23, Ezekiel 18:30-32, Zechariah 8:13, Galatians 3:13-14)
  • We believe the wages of sin is death, but the gift of Yahweh is eternal life in Yeshua our Messiah (Romans 6:23)
  • We believe that Yeshua is the Messiah and He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  • We believe that if Yeshua did not resurrect, then our faith is futile; and we are still in our sins (1 Corinthians 15:17)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
– Romans 6:23

Eternity

  • We believe that no one has ascended to heaven except Yeshua, who is now in heaven (John 3:13)
  • We believe that we shall be made alive at Yeshua’s return (1 Corinthians 15:23)
  • We believe that Satan will be bound for a thousand years while Yeshua reigns on the earth with those who are part of the first resurrection (Revelation 20:2,4)
  • We believe that after the thousand years, there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust (Acts 24:15)
  • We believe that the dead will be judged according to what is written in the book of life (Revelation 20:12)
  • We believe that the righteous will be given everlasting life, but the unrighteous will receive shame and everlasting contempt (Daniel 12:2, Matthew 25:46)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
– John 3:16

Our Practice

Our Practice is the way we walk out our faith. We are told to practice righteousness and that this is how we recognize the children of God (1 John 3:10). The Bible also tells us that faith without works is dead (James 2:18,20,26). Our desire is to walk out our faith in the same way Yeshua walked.

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” – 1 John 2:3-6

  • We keep the weekly seventh-day Sabbath as commanded in Scripture. (Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 16:23, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:13-17, Leviticus 23:3, Deuteronomy 5:15, Matthew 12:12, Mark 2:27-28, Acts 13:42-44, Acts 18:4)
  • We keep the annual Feasts of the LORD as commanded in Scripture. (Leviticus 23:1-2) These Feasts include Passover (Leviticus 23:4-5), Unleavened Bread (Leviticus 23:6-8), FirstFruits (Leviticus 23:10-14), Pentecost (Leviticus 23:15-21), Trumpets (Leviticus 23:24-25), Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-32), and Tabernacles (Leviticus 23:34-43).
  • We eat only the things the Bible defines as food and avoid the unclean animals the Bible forbids us from eating. This means we don’t eat pig, shellfish, catfish, etc. (Leviticus 11:1-47)
  • We dress modestly, women wearing clothing appropriate for a woman of God, and men wearing clothing appropriate for a man of God. Men do not wear women’s clothing and women do not wear men’s clothing. Men do not wear hats or head coverings when praying, and women should cover their heads when praying. (Deuteronomy 22:5, 1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Corinthians 11:4-5)
  • We follow Biblical headship. The husband is the head of the house, the spiritual leader, and he is responsible for teaching his children to love the LORD. A husband is commanded to love his wife in the same way that Christ loves the church, and the wife is commanded to submit to and respect her husband in the same way the church does to the LORD. Children are expected to honor their parents, and parents are not to provoke or discourage their children. (Ephesians 5:22-28, Colossians 3:18-21, Titus 2:1-8, 1 Peter 3:1-2, Exodus 20:12, )

“…Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge – by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith…” – 1 Timothy 6:20-21

We Do NOT Believe…

We see the following things as un-Biblical heresies that cause contention and lead people astray in their faith. We will not tolerate such things in our congregation.

  • We do NOT believe in any Theology that denies the Deity of Yeshua (Jesus) — this includes Unitarian theology, Arianism, Docetism, Modalism, and any other theology that denies that Yeshua (Jesus) is God incarnate, or claims that He was simply a created being. We boldly reject any theology that denies the deity of Yeshua. (John 1:1, John 17:5, Colossians 1:15-19, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:1-6, Philippians 2:6-11, 1 Timothy 6:15-16, Titus 2:12)
If you do not confess to believe in the Deity of Yeshua, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about the Deity of Yeshua, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in Sacred Name Theology — which affirms one cannot use or say the English names of Jesus, God, or Lord, as they are seen as corrupt versions of His Hebrew name YHVH or Yeshua. We believe this theology is a distraction from what true faith is based on: a relationship with and obedience to God. No one knows for certain how ancient Hebrew was pronounced, and people who bring these topics up are seeking contention and strife.
If you believe people cannot say “God” or “LORD” and must pronounce “The Name” a certain way (such as Yahweh, Yehovah, Yahuah, etc.), you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about the pronunciation of the Name, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in Anti-Pauline Theology — which declares Paul’s teaching is contrary to that of Jesus and therefore Paul’s doctrines and his Epistles should be rejected. We believe that Paul was an Apostle chosen by Yeshua and his writings are inspired by the Holy Spirit.
  • If you do not believe that Paul was an Apostle chosen by Yeshua, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you claim/debate/stir division that he was a false teacher or heretic, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in adding or removing books from the Bible – there is a growing number of people who think they have the authority to decide what books should or should not be included in Scripture. The Bible warns us not to add to or take away from the Word of God. We believe the 66 books of the Bible contained in the Old and New Testament is the complete Scripture and we do not believe in adding new books or removing current books from the Canon of Scripture. (Deuteronomy 12:32, Revelation 22:18-19, 2 Timothy 3:16)
If you believe books should be added to or taken away from the Bible, and you reject the current 66 book canon of Scripture, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about the Canon, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in the Lunar Sabbath – The Lunar Sabbath belief comes from ancient Babylon. The Babylonians based their monthly sabbaths on the new moon. It was not the continuous 7-day cycle we are commanded to keep in Scripture. (Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 16:23, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:13-17, Leviticus 23:3, Deuteronomy 5:15, Matthew 12:12, Mark 2:27-28, Acts 13:42-44, Acts 18:4)
If you believe and follow the Lunar Sabbath instead of the Biblical Seventh-day Sabbath, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about the Sabbath, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in any un-Biblical form of marriage – We believe that God designed marriage to be between one man and one woman only. Men cannot marry men and women cannot marry women. Men cannot have more than one wife, and women cannot have more than one husband. This is God’s design for marriage and anything outside of “one man and one woman” is considered un-Biblical. (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31, 1 Timothy 3:2, 1 Timothy 3:12, 1 Timothy 5:9, Titus 1:6)
If you believe that marriage can be something other than “one man and one woman”, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about marriage, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in Torah-based salvation – the Torah is holy and true, and we believe that obedience to the Torah is what God desires from His people, but obedience to the Torah is not what saves you. We are saved by grace through faith in Yeshua. We can do nothing to save ourselves. (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 6:23, Acts 4:12, Romans 1:16, Romans 10:10,
If you believe that you are saved by your obedience to the Torah, and not by faith in Yeshua, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division about the source of our salvation, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in “Race-based” theology – such as British Israelism or Black Hebrew Israelites, or any other theology that emphasizes DNA, skin color, genetics, ancestry, etc.  Any theology that is based on race or genealogy always detracts from the true faith and salvation found in the Bible. We are saved by grace through faith in Yeshua, not by genealogy or skin color. (Galatians 3:7, 1 Timothy 1:4, Titus 3:9, Ephesians 2:8, Revelation 5:9)
If you believe that the color of your skin plays any role in salvation, you will not feel comfortable in our congregation. If you stir contention, strife or division based on race, you will be asked to leave.
  • We do NOT believe in Replacement Theology — which states the Church has replaced Israel. The Gentiles did not replace Israel, we are grafted into Israel and we become fellow citizens with them and share in the covenants with them. Remember that the Bible says the New Covenant is with Israel and Judah. (Jeremiah 31:31, Hebrews 8:8, Ephesians 2:11-19, Romans 11:17-24). If you believe you are a gentile that has replaced Israel, you may not feel comfortable in our congregation.  If you stir contention, strife or division regarding the replacement of Israel, you will be asked to leave.

Contentions

We do not want to argue about things such as the pronunciation of names, calendar disputes, the shape of the earth, genealogies, which books should or should not be included in the Bible, or any other topic of contention. We do not tolerate contentious people who want to stir up strife over such things. (2 Timothy 2:23, Titus 3:9-11, 1 Corinthians 3:3, Proverbs 17:14, Proverbs 18:6, Proverbs 22:10, 1 Timothy 6:3-5)

But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.”

– Titus 3:9-11
